A sort rule defines the order of payment methods in your checkout for the selected countries.
Step by step
- Create a new rule and choose Sort payment methods.
- Give the rule a label.
- Select the countries in which the rule should apply. Each country can be used in only one sort rule.
- Select the payment methods to sort.
- Bring them into your preferred order per drag and drop. Methods not included in the sort rule are listed below the sorted ones.
- Publish the rule directly, or save it as a draft to edit later.
You can always come back to edit, delete, or set a rule back to draft.
Good to know
- Wallets cannot be sorted: payment methods integrated as wallets via Shopify Payments (PayPal as wallet, Apple Pay, Google Pay) cannot be repositioned. If PayPal is integrated as its own direct payment method instead, sorting works. See Which payment methods can you control (and what needs Shopify Plus)?.
