How DiscountHero works
Stops discount abuse live in checkout. Needs Shopify Plus.
DiscountHero protects your margins from discount code abuse. It checks every discount code live in the checkout against the code's restrictions and your customer history, and automatically removes codes the customer is not eligible for, most importantly new-customer codes used by existing customers.
The problem it solves
New-customer discounts leak. Codes end up on coupon sites and in browser extensions, and existing customers redeem them with a second email address. Shopify's own check only catches the exact same email; anyone using a fresh address walks through. At scale, that is a real margin problem.
What DiscountHero does
- A customer enters a discount code in the checkout.
- DiscountHero checks the code's restrictions and, if restricted, matches the customer against your existing customer base using several signals, not just the email.
- If the customer is not eligible, the code is removed automatically before payment, and the customer sees a message.

Requirement: Shopify Plus
DiscountHero runs as a checkout extension that intervenes in the discount logic, which Shopify only allows on Shopify Plus. On standard plans, the app will not appear in your checkout editor. If you are not on Plus, DiscountHero is unfortunately not available for your store.
