Testing AddressHero takes two minutes. You can test in your own store or in our public demo store.
Test the in-checkout validation
- Add a product to your cart and go to checkout.
- Enter an address without a house number (for example "Musterstraße, 12345 Berlin").
- With in-checkout validation active, an error message appears and the checkout is blocked until the address is fixed.
No error appears? Make sure the rule is activated in the app AND the app has the block permission in the Shopify checkout editor. Full checklist: Why did an invalid address get through?.
Test the post-checkout validation
- Add a product to your cart and go to checkout.
- Enter an address with a deliberate error that passes the format check, for example a non-existent house number or a misspelled street.
- Complete the purchase.
- On the Thank You page, the AddressHero prompt appears asking you to review and correct the address. Depending on your settings, clear errors are corrected automatically instead (check the order in your Shopify admin and its timeline).
Good to know when testing
- Use a Shopify development store or a test payment method (for example Bogus Gateway) to avoid real orders.
- For the in-checkout block, pay attention to the payment method: express buttons (Apple Pay, PayPal Express) skip the checkout form entirely, so they are no test of the in-checkout validation. See Express wallets and landing-page checkouts.
- The post-checkout validation runs server-side about 1 to 2 minutes after the order. Refresh the order in your admin to see corrections and tags.
