What the validation is based on
Addresses are checked against official reference data, depending on the delivery country:
- Germany, Austria, Switzerland: Deutsche Post AddressFactory
- United Kingdom: Royal Mail address data (via Experian)
- USA, Canada, Netherlands: Experian (USPS standard for the USA, Canada Post standard for Canada)
- All other countries: Google Maps Address Validation
- All countries: our own address database

Orders from countries not on the list
The in-checkout format checks (house number present, special characters, packing stations) work independently of the country. The database validation post-checkout requires coverage, so addresses from uncovered countries are not verified against reference data.
A related setting
If you restrict validation to specific countries in the AddressHero settings, orders from other countries are skipped entirely. If you ship internationally, we recommend leaving that restriction empty. See ZIP, city and country mismatches.
