AI-assisted address parsing (Pro)

Customers type addresses in creative ways: the company name in the street field, the house number before the street, delivery notes mixed into the address line. Before AddressHero asks the address databases, an AI step tidies these entries up so the check runs on a clean address.

💡 In short: on the Pro plan, orders shipping to Germany, Austria and Switzerland get an AI pre-check that restructures messy address input before validation. It is on automatically, nothing to configure.

What the AI step does

1. Spot the suspicious entry. Clean addresses like "Hauptstraße 12a" skip the AI entirely. Only entries that look off are handed to it, for example: a company name detected in the street field, no house number, the house number before the street name, or an unusually long address line.
2. Restructure it. The AI moves each piece into the right field for the destination country: street, house number, company, additional information.
3. Validate as usual. The cleaned address is then checked against the official databases (Deutsche Post, Google Maps). See What we validate against (Google Maps, Deutsche Post and more).
4. Apply only when confident. The restructured version is used only if the AI is highly confident. Otherwise the original input goes through the normal validation and, if needed, the customer is asked.

What it means for you

• Fewer orders are flagged as "unclear" just because of formatting, so fewer customers are asked to correct something that was fine.
• More addresses can be corrected automatically, because the databases receive an input they can actually match.
• If an AI-based correction turns out to be wrong from the customer's point of view, the customer can revert it on the Order Status page like any other correction. See Automatic correction.

It gets better with your orders

Corrections that customers accept are used as examples for future orders in the same region, so the AI learns the typical address quirks of your customer base over time.
