You may notice an informational banner in your Shopify admin that flags AddressHero as causing "checkout errors" or says "An app blocked X checkouts". This is expected behavior, and here is exactly what it means.
Shopify shows this banner in your checkout analytics when a checkout is blocked or abandoned after an app intervened. On average, 40 to 60 percent of customers abandon their checkout before purchasing, which is completely normal in e-commerce. When AddressHero detects an incorrect address and blocks the checkout until the customer corrects it, some of those customers abandon the process, and Shopify counts these as "blocked checkouts".
Every checkout has drop-offs. Some of those drop-offs involve customers who entered an incorrect address and chose not to correct it. Without AddressHero, those orders would have shipped to undeliverable addresses; with AddressHero, the problem is caught before fulfillment. The banner documents the app doing exactly its job.
ā Nothing, you can safely ignore it. The banner is purely informational and does not indicate a malfunction or a negative impact on your store.
If the number looks unusually high to you, review which in-checkout rules are active (a very strict rule set blocks more) and check Why did an invalid address get through? for the flip-side diagnostics. When in doubt, contact us via support and we look at your numbers together.
